With great sadness, the family of Doreen Woodhouse (nee McVittie) announce her peaceful passing at Brightshores Health System- Markdale on April 3, 2026, at age 78. Cherished wife of 56 years to John Woodhouse of Chatsworth. Proud mother of three sons: Wayne Woodhouse (Stephanie) of Meaford, Kevin Woodhouse (Jo-Anne) of Owen Sound, and Todd Woodhouse (Pam) of Ariss. Loving grandmother of Grace, Claire, Ben, Zach, and Sarah. Dear sister of Vernon McVittie (Bonnie) of High Prairie AB. She is also survived by her in-laws Laura Hargrave, and Helen, Vivian, and Nettie Woodhouse. Doreen was predeceased by her parents Norman Edward and Marion Elizabeth McVittie (nee McCausland), sister Evelyn Watson (Bill) and her in-laws Gordon Hargrave, Harvey Woodhouse (Marjorie), Bruce Woodhouse, Herb Woodhouse, Ken Woodhouse, Marjorie Johnson (Tom), Allan Woodhouse (Mary Catherine), and David Woodhouse (Janet). She will be missed terribly by her fur-baby, Willow, and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends in the community.

 

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth, Ontario. A private Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral home chapel.
