Dorothy Stewart (nee Kaufman) of RR2 Chatsworth passed away on March 10, 2026, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Harvey Stewart for 67 years. Loving mother of Karen Sweiger (Tom) of Dobbinton, Nancy Poset (Joe) of Brampton and Steven Stewart (Sarah Ellis) of RR2 Chatsworth. Cherished grandmother of Scott (Jessica) Sweiger, Sarah (Jeremy) Mack, Sierra Poset, Sharlotte, Sam and Spencer Stewart. Proud great grandmother of Evalyn and Archie Sweiger. Special aunt of Chuck Gillespie (Nancy) of Seattle, Washington. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends in the community. Dear sister of Pearl Monk, Bob Kaufman and Joyce Kauffman. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Angela Kaufman (nee Wuerch), sister Grace Schenk, sister-in-law Corleen Kaufman, brother-in-laws, Elgin Monk, Walter Schenk and Guy Kauffman.

Dorothy was a dedicated mother, and teacher of 30 years, who loved children. She enjoyed friends and relatives, helping on the farm, baking, dancing, snowmobiling, cards, curling, and watching sports—Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Most importantly she loved her family and extended family. She was the heart and sole of the family and will be dearly missed.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth, Ontario. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, March 22, from 11:00am – 2:30pm, with words of remembrance commencing at 11:00am. Private spring inurnment at Shiloh Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Chesley Hospital Foundation or Summit Place, Owen Sound, would be appreciated by the family.
