With his loving family by his side, Douglas Elder passed peacefully at his Chatsworth home on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the age of 94. Loving husband of the late Evelyn Elder (nee Brown) who predeceased him in 2021. Doug is survived by their children Brad (Cindy), Warren (Linda), Randy (Nancy), Karen Lyn (Larry Dickinson), Rick (Cheri), and daughter-in-law Vicki. Lovingly adored by 12 grandchildren  and 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Bryan, parents Bruce and Jean Elder (nee Crane), Evelyn's parents Roy and Ethel Brown (nee White), and her siblings Elmer Brown (Linda), Eleanor Burnett (Bob), and Carol Rogers (Dan). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends in the community.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth Ontario. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at the funeral home from 11:00am – 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 24, with family remembrances commencing at 12:30pm. The family wish to thank Dr. Jeff Siddall for his outstanding care and comfort, and the compassionate care givers from CarePartners, and the VON.
