Frances Hazel Vanstone

July 26, 1945 - September 3, 2016

 

Frances Hazel Vanstone (nee Ellacott) , of Desboro, passed on September 3rd   with her loving family present , after a courageous battle with cancer in her 72nd year. Fran is survived by her loving husband of 45yrs, Dick Vanstone , and their children Jack (Danielle) of Calgary, Rick (Shelley) of Holland Centre, and Dave of Desboro.  A cherished grandma to Ameliana, Jacob, Gabrielle, Rogan, Parker, Jonothon and Lily.  She is survived by her brothers Dave of Monkton, and John (Marg) of Rockwood and sister in laws Helen of Sherwood Park Alberta, Ivy of Oakville and Sandra of New Dundee. Predeceased by her parents Russel and Hazel Ellacott and brother George. 

A devoted mother and wife, she loved spending time with her family driving the boat while fishing, hunting and ATV'g.  She was a dedicated and treasured member of the Trollin' Stones fishing crew and the Yahoo Hunting Gang. Fran loved watching her kids and grandchildren in their sports of volleyball, hockey, and baseball. She was active in her local community, providing support to her local church and as a Beaver Scout coordinator. Many friends will remember her loving care at Lee Manor and her administrative skills at Mark's stores in Owen Sound and Hanover.

The funeral service for Fran will be held  at the GARAFRAXA HILL FUNERAL HOME, Chatsworth, on Wednesday September 7, at 5:00 pm with visitation 1 hour prior, Pastor Michael Henkel officiating. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Funeral Home reception area following  the service. Inurnment Service will be held at Elma Centre Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Thursday September 8, 2016. Donations to the Grey Bruce Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
