Edward "Ted" Tennant

May 28, 1940 - April 29, 2019

TENNANT, Edward Marvin "Ted" - at age 78, passed on April 29, 2019 at his Oxenden home, surrounded by his three loving daughters. Ted is predeceased by the love of his life Gwendolyn Marie Tennant (nee Walpole). Ted is survived by his children Tammy Lou Tennant, Tracey Leah Hadley (Stephen), Terri-Lynne Tennant, loving partner of 20 plus years Marylou Stauffer, and his little furry buddy Muggs (aka Dumbo).  Proud Poppa to Lucas Edward Trowell, Dylan Michael, Stephanie Michelle, Shannon Nicole and Colin William Edward Hadley. Survived by his siblings Mildred "Moe" Iva Addley, James "Jim" Wilbert Tennant (Anita), and Timothy "Tim" Alen Tennant (Diane), and his in-laws Connie McArthur (Harold), Delores Ward (Rodger) and Terry Walpole. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Wesley Wilbert and Mary Alene Tennant (nee McArthur), brothers Fredrick Charles Tennant, Wallace "Wally" Ladell Tennant, Elson Howard "Johnny" Tennant, and by in-laws Dove Mathison, Grace Tennant, Neil Addley, Nadine and Grant Carswell.  

Ted was born in Owen Sound and set a record for being the biggest baby at 12 pounds.  In his younger years he moved around often until marrying his love Gwen and eventually settling in London, Ontario.  He raised his family and worked in the fuel oil industry for Supertest, BP, Petro Canada, and also owned his own business Forest City Fuels.  He was a man of many talents which were evident in the home he built with Gwen. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed travelling,  and loved his T.V. (he had one in every room).  Ted loved to tinker in his garage, he was very social making this the hot spot for parties, family reunions or just popping in to have a beer with him.  Ted cherished his daughters and grandchildren and loved spending time with them, laughing, reminiscing and telling stories of his life.  

Cremation has taken place and arrangements entrusted to the GARAFRAXA HILL FUNERAL HOME, Chatsworth. The family will welcome friends to a local come and go gathering to celebrate Ted's life at his home, 111 Havelock St, Oxenden on Saturday May 11, 2019 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. A second Celebration will be held in London, Saturday May 25, 2019, 1-4 p.m. at the  Royal Canadian Legion, Victory Branch 317-Upper level, 311 Oakland Ave, London Ontario.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.garafraxahillfuneral.com.  Donations can be made to Ontario Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, Parkinson's Foundation, or Canadian Cancer Society.
