It is with sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Anne MacDonald (nee Ryan) on September 24th, 2026 in Owen Sound, Ontario.  Born to Francis Andrew Ryan and Mary Jessie Campbell, and predeceased by her beloved husband James Edmund MacDonald (2018); she is with them once again. Survived by her daughter Sylvia Langpohl (Herb), and her son James Ian MacDonald. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren James-Lee MacDonald (Kroy), Noelle Blum (Shane) and Hope Baker and Santiago MacDonald. GG was so full of love for her great-grandchildren; Sierra, Allison and Holley, Michael and Paige, and will be cherished forever in their hearts. She only began to get to know her extended family, Nicole Quintana (Gabriel), Daniel  Langpohl (Tamara) and their children Dominic and Mia Quintana and Leo Langpohl. Anne's love for others began as a young woman, as a role model for her brothers and sisters after her. Survived and missed by her sisters Joan MacDonald, Bette Turnbull (Ed), Sally Maloney (Earl), and Geri Bock and brother, Danny Ryan (Mary-Lou). Predeceased by her brothers John Francis, Neil, Marty and Johnny, sisters Theresa Claire and Mary-Catherine, brothers-in-law Arthur Bock, William MacDonald and Danial MacDonald and sister-in-law Rose Jessome. Also predeceased by her son-in-law Ian Baker (2021).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth, Ontario. A visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, October 2, from 5:00 – 7:00pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chatsworth, on Saturday, October 3, at 10:00am. Lunch to follow at the the funeral home, and interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Barrie. The family wish to thank all those who have supported Anne through her last years of life, including but not limited to the wonderful staff at Lee Manor, Owen Sound, St. Mary and the Missions Catholic Church, Fr. Schnurr, Angie and her fellow congregants at St Stanislaus. If desired, donations to St. Mary's and the Missions, Chatsworth Outreach, or any Owen Sound food bank, would be appreciated by the family.
