September 3, 1970 - August 6, 2026

The family of Joe Wright of Holland Centre, sadly announce his peaceful passing at Brightshores Health System- Markdale, on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at age 55. Cherished husband of 8 years to Stacey Heimbecker. Proud father of Lucas (Katelyn), Alexa (Connor), Nathan (Crystal), Matthew, and Andrew (Izabelle) and excited grandpa to be of baby Heimbecker due December 2026. Loving son of Luella Mae Wright (nee McBeth) and James Wright (Shirleyann Molloy). Joe is also survived by his father-in law Paul Heimbecker and brother-in-law Jamie Heimbecker. Predeceased by his twin brother James in 2022 and mother-in-law Shirley Heimbecker in 2024. Joe will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in the local and Honda Manufacturing community.

When you think about Joe, one of the first things that comes to mind is just how much he loved being a father. Being a dad wasn’t simply one part of Joe’s life—it was something he was passionate about. He was what you might affectionately call a “helicopter dad.” He was involved. Very involved. He had opinions—strong opinions—about what the kids should be doing, where they should be going, and what he thought was best for them. And while they may not have always agreed with him at the time, there was never any doubt about where those opinions came from: he cared deeply, and he wanted the very best for his family. Joe was a true family man. His family meant everything to him, and he made sure they knew it. He took enormous pride in being a father and loved watching his children grow through every stage of their lives. One of the ways he captured those years was through his camera. Joe loved taking pictures of the kids. He documented their lives, their milestones, their adventures, and their everyday moments—and in doing so, he created a collection of memories that his family will treasure forever.

Joe was also a hardworking man. He spent 24 years working in manufacturing at Honda in Alliston, a significant part of his working life. He took pride in working hard and providing for the people he loved. His dedication to his work was another reflection of the kind of man he was—dependable, committed, and someone who believed in doing his part.

But when Joe wasn't working, you could often find him outside. He loved being outdoors. Give him a yard to work in and he was happy. Mowing the lawn, gardening, puttering around on the tractor, or doing just about anything that involved being outside and taking care of things—that was Joe. He found real satisfaction in the simple, everyday jobs around the house.

And if Joe was outside working, there was a good chance the talk radio was on. He loved talk radio and listened to it all the time. It became part of the soundtrack of his everyday life. Joe could be stubborn. Those who knew him well would probably say that with a smile—and perhaps a few stories. He knew what he believed, he had strong opinions, and he wasn't easily persuaded otherwise. That was Joe.

He also had a special love for big dogs. Great Danes, in particular, captured his heart. Asher, Jake, and Charlie were more than just pets; they were part of the family, and Joe loved having them around.

Joe found joy in simple things. He didn't need a complicated life to be happy. He found happiness in his family, his home, his yard, his dogs, his routines, and the everyday moments that made up life.

He taught his children important lessons—to respect others, to stand up for themselves, and to have the courage to be who they were. And, of course, he passed along some very important practical knowledge too, including how to make a mean chicken parmesan.

Joe's life was built around the people and things he cared about. He was passionate, protective, opinionated, stubborn, hardworking, loving, and deeply devoted to his family. And perhaps that is the greatest thing to remember about him: He loved being Dad. He loved his kids. He loved his family. He loved being involved in their lives and watching them become the people they are today.

There will be an empty chair, an empty spot in the yard, fewer conversations with the talk radio playing in the background, and so many moments when his family will wish they could hear his voice or see him puttering around outside one more time.

But there will also be photographs—so many memories captured through his eyes. There will be stories, lessons, family traditions, and all the little things he passed along without even realizing it.

And there will always be the love of a father who considered being a dad one of the greatest privileges of his life. Joe, you were loved deeply, you were one of a kind, and you will be missed more than words can express. Goodbye, Dad. We love you, and we miss you like crazy.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth, Ontario. A Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 15, from 11:00am – 2:00pm.
