Kevin Edwin King
July 27, 1982 - October 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Kevin Edwin King on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the age of 44. Born in Guelph, Ontario, on July 27, 1982, Kevin will be remembered for his big laugh, his even bigger heart, and the way he threw himself into everything and everyone he loved.

Kevin will be forever loved and missed by his spouse Jody Weiler, and their two sons, Brody and Eddison, who were the light of his life, and by his loyal dog, Mack. He will also be dearly missed by his brother Michael (Sarah) and his nephew Aurelius, the Weiler family, and his many cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as the Malyk family, who were a cherished part of his extended family. Kevin had many friends from all over who will dearly miss him.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Betty and George King, his grandparents Edwin and Mary King and Donald and Mary Ellen MacDonald, his aunt and uncle Emily and Archie MacRobbie, his aunt Anne Jansen, and his cousin Wayne MacRobbie.

Being a dad was Kevin's proudest accomplishment. He loved Brody and Eddison more than anything and their time together brought him great joy. He took real pride in Brody's love of lacrosse and hockey – and got behind any of Brody’s interest from sports to fishing in the “tinner” tin boat, and Eddison loved time spent with his dad playing with his John Deere diggers and tractors. Kevin loved fresh air, a good hike, and any excuse to be outside. He was at his best with tools in his hands, building things for the people he loved. He built the boys their very own hockey rink, and when his brother Michael moved to Minneapolis, Kevin made the trip to help set up the house and finish the deck. He also appreciated good food, and his buffalo chicken dip was always a favourite. Every Christmas, he carried on the fondue tradition he and Michael grew up with, sharing it with Jody and the boys.

He was a fan of Notre Dame football; Kevin took his family to South Bend to see the Fighting Irish play in person, only to watch them get upset by Northern Illinois. Still, the trip was a win. Brody got a private tour of the Notre Dame ice rink, complete with a ride on the Zamboni, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the training facility, locker rooms and all. It turned out to be one of their best days together. Another time he took Brody to see Michigan play Ohio State in hockey. Brody doesn’t remember who won the game but he remembers that time with his dad and all the ice cream they ate that day.

Kevin loved live music – especially country music and went to many festivals and concerts over the years, more recently he took Jody and Brody to see Sean McCann live for Brody’s first live concert which made for an extra special memory. Kevin was smart and endlessly curious, always eager to learn something new. He loved to laugh, and his laugh was impossible not to catch. When he laughed, he laughed big, and when he loved, he loved even bigger. His family will carry that laugh, love, and many happy memories with them always.
