Lorie Lee Morris

July 30, 1959  – December 31, 2021

Peacefully at home on Friday December 31, Lorie Lee Morris (nee Hilapieli), crossed over after a courageous battle with COPD.

Loving wife of 42 years to Frank Morris. Loving devoted mother (Mommis) of Jeremy Morris of Hope, BC and Bradley Morris (Celeste) of Salt Springs Island, BC. Special Mommis to Mike Ferrier (Chelsey) of Ucluelet, BC. Proud and loving Grandmother (Gam Gam) of 5 boys: Peyton and Denin, Sauryn, Lewin and Koa. Survived by sister Jennifer Saunders (Randy). Proud and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ray and Donna Hilapieli (nee Foden) and sisters Wendy Harper and Tammy Meyers.

Lorie was born in Sudbury and lived in Brampton, Caledon, Wasaga Beach, Toronto, Georgetown and finally Chatsworth, where she lived for the past 36 years, raising her family and spending several of those years working in the restaurant and jewellery Industries. Lorie’s greatest joys were her family, her very special Fur Babies and her gardens.  She relished in their sports, academics and career choices and was never afraid to voice her opinion. Lorie touched the lives of many over the years, with her love and amazing skills for cooking, baking and large gatherings with family and friends. The family would like to thank the Home Care Palliative Team and the VON for Lorie’s home care. The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to Laura Brett, a dedicated VON nurse, as well as her closest friends, Carol, Jill, Nancy and Joan, for their constant love, support, and assistance in ensuring Lorie remained at home.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. A celebration of Lorie’s life will be held after restrictions are lifted on gatherings and the warmer weather returns, so we can honour her with all her family and friends that she loved so much.  If desired, memorial donations to Chapman House, Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or VON would be appreciated.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.garafraxahillfuneral.com
