Joyce Roberta Hanslip

January 8, 1925 -  January 17, 2017

 

Joyce Hanslip (nee Warsop) of Hanover, passed away at Hanover Care Centre on January 17, 2017 with her husband of 65 years, Dels, at her side, in her 92nd year. Fondly remembered by Veronica and John Fleischmann and their families, as well as by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Warsop of England.

Joyce was born and raised in Nottingham, England. There, she was trained as a seamstress and worked in a lace factory.  She was no stranger to hard work and soon became supervisor to ten other lace makers. Joyce and Dels emigrated to Canada in 1976, first settling in Elliot Lake for 30 years and finally to Hanover. They loved to travel; taking many cruises, driving to the USA, and returning to their native England every other year. In her spare time, Joyce continued to enjoy knitting and dress-making.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. Cremation has taken place and a spring interment will be announced at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.garafraxahillfuneral.com.
