Memories of Dawn Blackman

From: Elaine Benis
So sorry for your loss.

From: Keith and Karen Murray
How fortunate that we were able to have a lengthy conversation with Aunt Dawn at our recent visit last month. We had a great discussion regarding the upcoming election and other world issues as well as catching up on family news. We will remember her as a woman of great strength and compassion. Our condolences to each of you in the family. We are certain she will be greatly missed.

From: Myrtle and George Kidd and family
We would like to extend our sincere sympathy upon the passing of Dawn at this time. So sorry we are unable to attend the funeral.
The Kidd kids remember her as a terrific librarian at H.C.C.S. - so knowledgeable, and enjoyed story reading time with her!

May you  find strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of friends

From: Deann
I have been thinking about all the wonderful things about Momma and how fortunate I have been to be her grand-daughter for 45 years.  I have learned that "it's not a fashion show" when I went out to play wearing the most mismatched hat and scarf, I became a card shark at a young age playing cribbage and euchre until the wee hours of the morning with her, getting to spends weeks of the summer with her at the farm, she introduced me to  new classics every summer that I was to read and we talked about each night about what I read and what does it mean and the list goes on.  For all of us that loved her I hope we all take the time to think about all the good Momma brought to our lives and pass it on.  She was a gift that we should pay forward.

From: Lorraine (Kirk) Dickson
We (the Kirk family) will always remember the good times and talks we had with Aunt Dawn. Our thoughts are with all of her family at this difficult time.

Mrs. Blackman holds a treasured space in my heart. She took an interest in me and cultivated my love of books, allowing me to be her library assistant at Holland Chatsworth School.  I adored her.  My condolences to her entire family.

Condolences to her entire family. I know she will be truly missed.
I enjoyed working with her in the library at Holland-Chatsworh school and having many lively conversations about books and theatre. We went to the Shaw festival in Niagara-on-the lake and Shakespeare plays in Stratford. Great times with a great lady.
