Remembering Veronica Fleischmann

From: Ian Witherow

Being neighbours and friends across the road for over 30 years gave my wife and I lots of time to chat and call John and Veronica good friends. I personally went to T Cat hockey with John a lot of times and not just home games but we drove to many away games, especially playoff hockey. We will miss those precious times. We bought cars from John and had most of our cars serviced by Saugeen Motors. So we definitely have good memories that will not fade.

Debbie and Susan, The passing of your Dad had sure sent me down memory lane and now there your Mom is, right beside him again, now as always. Such a lively house was yours and she amongst it all. The Berry ladle to knock down to pick up the phone, the yard stick to knock up to pick up the phone. Her beautiful ball gown we got to try on. Her patient approach to our large Barbie community taking up the living room floor for weeks on end.. She allowed my career to start there. I think of cool sun glasses grape fruit spoons and her not allowing me to wash the knives when we did the dishes. Always felt at home there from age 5 to 20. Seems like yesterday. My love to you all. This is certainly a passing of a special kind of time.

Although it is difficult on you two and your families we are so glad they are together. Your Mom and I had many good laughs and tears, angers and fears as we shared our ups and downs in life when I worked with them. I don't think there was a function in town that they didn't support, they were such good people, they will be missed. I know Marilyn and Joel were the sparkle in their lives and we are so sorry for your sadness and loss. Hugs to all.

So many fond memories of your mom during our childhood. Many hours of playtime and memories above the dealership in your home. Always a happy and cheery place to be. I’m so sorry for you loss of not just your mom but dad as well. Hold those happy, good memories close to your heart. When those memories bring a smile or laughter, that’s her giving you a nudge that she’s always there. She truly was a wonderful, loving woman. Our parents were so involved in our lives and we have much to be thankful for

Debbie, Susan and families. Another page has turned. I am so saddened by the passing of your mom. I suppose it makes sense because I don't remember ever seeing your mom without your dad. They were true partners in every sense. Happy to know that they are reunited, although I know that this loss is difficult for you both. I send you a warm hug and all my love.

The passing of both your parents has left a large void in our community. They have been such dedicated Durhamites in so many ways, dedicating their time for several organizations around town and at the same time running their own business. We always appreciated the goodies they provided for coffee hour at Trinity and will miss sitting enjoying conversation with them. Together they were meant to be. Sending our sincere sympathy, Doug and Vanda
