Dear Jean, Here I am again Jean. Your husband Thijs had an Uncle in Surhuisterveen. Uncle Age de Jong. Age was your husbands Thijs' uncle.  Thijs father, Jelle's de Jong's brother Age had four children. Jitske, Thijs, Grietje en Hiltsje. Thijs ( uncle Age's son) called me on the phone today, told me Marg had informed him about your husband Thijs death ( his cousin carrying the same name as your husband), and asked me to condone to you, the condolences for him and his sisters and their partners too!! Jitske and Niels, Thijs and Tjimpkje, Grietje & partner and Cor and Hiltsje. He also asked me to wish you strength in the coming trying time before you. In writing this to you, I hope to have fulfilled my promise to him and his sisters. Thijs de Jong is experiencing some trouble himself at the moment. Hij broke his arm last week and has to be operated on next Thursday in Drachten. He's 72 . At any rate.. they all wish you blessings and strength Jean..

Dear Jean, Julie, James, Trudy, and grandchildren, Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. I have such fond memories of my cousin Thys, memories of the times we spent on the farm in Markdale visiting my aunt and uncle and the cousins, and the visits to Sauble Beach.    Years later Thys and Jean’s hospitality, Thys offering to drive my father, who was visiting from Holland, all the way to our home in Quebec City.  And who can forget his love of cars. Someone so special will not be forgotten. I know words can’t take away the sorrow you feel, but I hope it is comforting to know there are so many who care. May God’s comfort help you through the days and weeks ahead, and may all the loving memories heal your heart. You will be in our thoughts and prayers on Wednesday. Affectionately, Albert & Margaret Harper-Hamstra
