Remembering Edith Elliot

From: Deborah Dent

Mac and Family, I am sorry I didn't reach out sooner but just learned of Edith's passing. May happy memories bring you comfort. I have no doubt Irene and Bob were there to welcome her and they've been busy catching up ever since. Edith, rest in peace, you are remembered fondly. Thanks to both you and Mac for being so good to Irene in those final years!

From: Richard & Joanne Case

Apologies for this delayed message of condolence but want to pass along thoughts to everyone in the family. I loved Tom's comment about her "twinkle in the eye" and the ability to "light up a room". Heaven did indeed gain an angel.

Mrs. Elliot was wonderful to me when I was a teenager. She made me butter tarts every year on my birthday and always made me feel special. She has a special place in my heart and I am grateful for her part in my life. You will be missed. I am watching your service now and it is beautiful.

We were so saddened to hear of Edith's passing. The Elliot family was a big part of our childhood memories. We remember camping trips with the Elliots, but I think (as kids) what we remember the most, is every Labour Day weekend we had dinner at Mac & Edith's with Margie, Tom and Marie. As kids (and adults), we considered Edith the champion of the best butter tarts! Out thoughts and our prayers are with the Elliot family. Edith, give Margie a hug from us and also our Mom & Dad. The McKay family

From: Mike and Jerrie Traynor

Dear Mac and family. It is with great sadness that we read about the passing of Edith. We were just thinking of you all the other day and wondered how you were doing. We so enjoyed meeting your whole family and found Edith to be such a treasure. We remember all the tea cups that she collected with the idea of giving them away to guests when she passed away at her funeral - what a lovely and thoughtful gesture. Losing a loved one is so difficult but at least you know she is at peace now and in no pain and you have such wonderful memories to remember her by - that hopefully will be a comfort to you. Our heartfelt condolences, we will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. Mike and Jerrie. Xo

So sorry to hear that Mrs Elliot has passed. She was very good to me when I was a very young single parent (in the late 60’s) and I have thought of her kindness quite often over the years. May she Rest In Peace.
