Remembering Diana Collins

From: Joanne Robertson

So sorry for your loss….my condolences to you and the family. They will be a great source of support during this difficult time

From: Linda Ford

Sending heartfelt condolences to Mike and all of Diana's family. We are so heavy hearted at the loss of Diana. So many memories to process - but thankful for having them from trips to Collins Island and their lovely Markdale home. Many good times over the years at Board of Trade events and Gala's. Mike and Diana were also the guardians of our pets Bella and Tilley while we were on vacation. Bringing Tilley to visit Diana while she was ill brought smiles and laughter. Many "party in the bedroom" happened to make the best of our visits. May you rest in peace dear friend. Rick, Tilley and Me will miss you. xoxo

I was privileged to work with Diana on some major IT projects at a company many years ago, and benefited greatly from her wisdom, counsel, guidance and good nature. I was also fortunate to continue a friendship with her after she moved on to another company. A remarkable lady who will be missed. My prayers and thoughts to Mike and the family.

Knowing Diana for over twenty years, first meeting Michael through the BBOT, I’ve always felt that even though our paths crossed only occasionally, every time we met it was like meeting a friend. One particular time when we met in the crowded new kitchen, she greeted me so enthusiastically, she saw me, as she saw everyone in her life for who they truly are. I feel so incredibly fortunate to spend time with her this past December 20th at Linda and Rick’s. Her smile was radiant and as welcoming as ever and her strength awe inspiring. Her joy lit up the room and Tilley's obvious infatuation, like Bella before will always evoke smiles with memories of Diana Her profound warmth, her love for her family captured so well here, and our (well most in the room) shared bond over our four-legged friends will always stay with me. Diana was a truly special soul who will be deeply missed, and the impact of her kindness will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to Michael and the family and the huge group of long time friends who will miss her presence always.

We are so sad for the loss of our friend & neighbour. "Chance made us neighbours, hearts made us friends." Diana enjoyed our grandchildren & always made them feel special. We will miss our visits with her. Our condolences to Mike and all her family.

So hard to find the perfect words to describe how you feel when you lose a good friend! Her obituary describes her to a tee…..always there to lend a hand or give advice or find the perfect recipe you need! Our memories shared with friends at Collins Island and in home in Brampton and most recently their new home in Markdale will be with us forever! Mike was the best caregiver anyone could have…..both for Di’s Mother in earlier years and now with Di struggling with her cancer journey! She loved everyone whose heart she touched! Miss you Di!

I am friends with her cousin Maria and was going through a difficult divorce. She was so accommodating and sweet to me and really made me feel welcome. It was a very healing and much needed getaway and for her kindness I will be forever grateful. May she rest in peace.
