Dawn Marie Shute
July 30, 1963 - November 5, 2025

Dawn Shute (nee Prior) passed away peacefully at her home in Chesley, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at age 62, with her beloved husband of 18 years, Phil Shute, by her side. Special stepmom to daughters Brandy and Sara Shute of Halifax, grandma to Shania, Hunter, Dason, and Hannah. Cherished aunt to Jennifer Strutt (Chris) of Flesherton, and Jodie Clark (Kevin) of Meaford. Dawn's great nephews Lane and Tyson Strutt, and Cruz Clark, were the light in her life and always put a smile on her face. She is also survived by her much loved in-laws Sheila Butson (Chris) of Holland Centre, Connie Bowden (Don) of Bognor, Nancy Krane of Bognor, and Rick Harvey of Meaford. Dawn was born in Palmerston, precious daughter of the late Donald Ross and Grace Marie Prior (nee Demmans). Also predeceased by her sister Sherry Lynn Harvey, and in-laws Larry Krane, Anthony Shute (Bonnie), and Sherrill Duff (Charlie). She will be forever missed and remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dawn was blessed with and loved by her many friends. She loved time spent with them enjoying music, drinks, snacks, and laughs. She could often be found junking at Salvation Army Thrift stores and the Keady Market buying sparkly cheap treasures! Her working years included local factories, bars, parks, and home care agencies. When not at work, she took care of her honey, Phil, her house, and flowerbeds. Dawn will be remembered for her kindness shown to others and her great sense of humour.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. A come and go Celebration of Life will be held at the Walters Falls Community Centre on Saturday, November 15, from 1 – 4:00pm. The family wish to extend their sincere thanks to all the special health care providers who supported Dawn through her illness. If desired, donations to the Cancer Society or the Ronald McDonald House (London), would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be expressed online at www.garafraxahillfuneral.com.
