With loved ones at his side, Austin Hunt of Georgian Bluffs, passed peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Chapman House in Owen Sound, at the age of 81. Dear husband of 54 years to Rita Madelyn Hunt (nee Sloan). Loving father of Kim Morris (Dan), and their children Johnathan and Michael (Nicole), Dennis Hunt (Alyssa) and their children David and Olivia, and Fran Fancett (Mark) and their children Natalie, Alex, and Emily. Austin is also survived by his sister Shirley Young, and in-laws Shirley Hunt and Teake Veenstra, and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Norman Hunt and Alfreda Veenstra, brother-in-law Richard Young, and parents Alfred and Betty Hunt (nee Howe).​

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. A visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday October 3, 2024 at 10:00am, followed immediately by a funeral service at 11:00am, officiated by Rev. Doug Brown.
