Carlie Anne Currie

Carlie Anne Currie (nee Hunter)- It is with great sadness that the family of Carlie Anne announce her passing on Friday August 26th at Owen Sound Ontario. Carlie is survived by her beloved husband Steve, daughter Mackenzie, and son Josh of Massie, ON. Carlie also leaves to mourn her parents Hugh and Darlene Hunter, brother Collin (Jennifer) Hunter, nieces Taylor, Emma, and Sophie, maternal grandmother Ethel Lenton of Fredericton NB, uncle Gerald Lenton of Charlottetown PEI, aunt Frances Hunter of Donkin NS, and several cousins in British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia; daughter-in-law to Ken and Carol Currie of Chatsworth, ON, sister-in-law Lynn (Steve) Ross, niece Hayley, and nephew Jack of Vancouver, and brother-in-law Curtis (Yvonne) of Calgary and many, many friends. She was predeceased by grandparents Leslie Lenton, and William and Violet Hunter, uncles William and Robert Hunter, and aunts Madeline Hunter and Marylou Wells.

 

Carlie was born May 1, 1971 in London, ON and was a graduate of McGill University in Montreal with a degree in Physiotherapy and several distinction awards. She had a love of sports from a young age including softball, volleyball and badminton. During the past 20 years she was employed by Stan Cassidy Rehabilitation Centre in Fredericton, NB and Closing the Gap in the Owen Sound area. She will be sorely missed by her many clients. Above all, she was a very energetic and devoted mother to her children.  She also enjoyed the outdoors and travels to Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Alaska, and Florida.

 

Visitations will be held on Thursday September 1, from 10:00 am- 12:00 noon and from 6:00 pm to  8:00 pm at the Massie United Church.

 

The funeral service for Carlie Currie will be held  at the GARAFRAXA HILL FUNERAL HOME, Chatsworth ON, on Friday September 2, at 11:00 am , with a 1 hour visitation prior to the service. Pastor Michael Henkel officiating. Family and friends are invited to an Inurnment service at McLean's Cemetery, Bognor, followed by a luncheon at the Massie United Church.  Donations to Massie United Church, Hospice of Owen Sound, Hope Grey Bruce, the Keystone Child/Youth Family Services Owen Sound, or the Stan Cassidy Foundation in Fredericton NB would be greatly appreciated.
