Donald Wallace MacKinnon

With his loving daughter at his side, former  Chatsworth resident Don MacKinnon passed peacefully at GBHS Owen Sound, on Thursday August 20, 2020 at age 85. Loving husband of 63 years to the late Donna MacKinnon and dear father of Sandra
MacKinnon (Robert Cormier) of Prince Edward Island. Don is now also reunited with their unnamed stillborn child, son Timothy, and daughter Laura. Cherished Grandpa of Sebastien Cormier, Sarah MacKinnon-Cormier, and Julien Cormier, and fondly remembered by great-grandchildren Kaiden, Pascal, Gabriela, Neeko, Laurence, and Ruby.  Also survived by his siblings, Gale MacKinnon (Judy), Karen Motherwell, Glenda Klein (Wayne), Sandy MacKinnon (Linda), sister in-law Elsie MacKinnon, and by many precious nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Alberta MacKinnon (née Brownell), siblings Al MacKinnon and Bob MacKinnon and in-laws Gary Sleeth, Liz MacKinnon, and Joan MacKinnon.

 

Don will be remembered for his successful career in car sales at Baywest Motors in Owen Sound as well as owning his own dealership, MacKinnon Ford in Hanover. He was active in community service, particularly the Lion's Club, where he served as President in 1975-76, as well as being a longtime member of the Chatsworth Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder and choir member. 

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth Ontario. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
