Remembering Don MacKinnon

From: Barb & Steve Schuknecht
O my! We did not hear about Donna's passing until today when we saw Elsie McKinnon in Brucelea Haven,Walkerton.
We are so sorry to learn of these losses. Our condolences to the family on loss of your dad, now, too. We knew Donna from lawn bowling when she came over to Chesley every week to bowl in our League.  When Linda Gamble passed, we did not see Donna much any more.  Donna was such a faithful lawn bowler and always ready to help out at any of the events. On behalf of the Chesley Lawn Bowling Club, our sincere sympathies. Steve & Barb Schuknecht

Don and Donna were enthusiastic parents of musically talented Sandra and Laura, under my tutelage at JDSS.  Laura played a stunning "Nancy" in JDSS's Oliver while Sandra was a celebrated singer/musician at Grey/Bruce  venues.  Whenever I saw Donna and Don, we reminisced about how fortunate I was to have had both of them as my students; their love for each other and dedication to family was always apparent.   I'll miss them, both Don and Donna, but remember them fondly.  Condolences to Sandra and family.

Dear Sandra and family. I was shocked to hear of your Father's passing. I remember the time he drove you and I to Sarnia back in March of 1974, that being the first time that I'd met him. He seemed like such a kind and gentle soul. From my family to yours, I send our deepest heartfelt condolences. Sincerely yours, Mike Smout

From: Alan Barr
To the MacKinnon family: Carol and I send our condolences. Don and Donna were always very thoughtful, and supportive. I always appreciated Don's knowledge of cars and the buying process. Don was an elder in our church, and will surely be missed.
