We feel so fortunate to have had Bert and his whole family as wonderful and supportive neighbours for over 48 years. Our daughter loved horses from a young age and was always welcomed and included in the many events Walkers organized and attended. Our hearts go out to Jean, Jayne, Lorna, Rosemary and their families. We will miss Bert and his always welcoming, big, warm grin.

Jayne, I will always remember your Dad buzzing around on his golf cart at the barn with that wonderful smile on his face and a cheery hello whenever we were there doing vet work. A true gentleman with a kind soul that always was up for a chat whenever I saw him at the Hanover Races with your Mom sitting under the umbrella cheering on Tom. From: John Dickson

Our sincere condolences to Jean and all family and friends. Bert and his family were some of the first people I got to know when we moved to our farm in summer of 1961, and attended the Sowerby School that September where Jean was our wonderful teacher. Decades later, I got to reconnect with him at the Township office or with a friendly wave when he was grading the roads. Fond memories only. Rest in Peace, Bert...

From: Leon Hill

My warmest condolences to Jean and all their families. So glad that we were able to see Bert at your celebration back in September
