Robert (Bob) George Scott

 

August 17, 1931  –  March 15, 2022

Robert (Bob) George Scott passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 in his 91st year, with his wife of 65 years, Maxine, by his side. He leaves fond memories with his daughters Shirley (Henry Reinders) and Julie (Doug Barrett), and son Rob (Cheryl), grandchildren Amy Reinders (Craig Glassford), Mark Reinders (Nicole MacDonald), Gianna Reinders, Jordan Reinders and Graeme Scott, and great grandchildren Harrison and Abigail Glassford. He is also remembered by sisters Pauline Brown and Reta Rawn and brothers-in-law Grant Preston, Ray Walter, Don Fraser (Cay), and Harvey Fraser (Terry). Bob is predeceased by daughter Ellen, sister Edith Preston, brothers-in-law Lyle Rawn and Ken Brown, and sister-in-law Margaret Walter.

Bob farmed on the home farm between Dundalk and Hopeville until 1986 when he and Maxine moved to Victoria Street in Dundalk and he took the arena manager job. He was a socializer and a great lover of sports, both playing and watching, that included hockey, broomball, baseball (his favourite), curling and golf. He and Maxine moved to a condo in Owen Sound in 2013 and he finished off his sporting career with many games of Pepper Euchre.

Visitation will be held at Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home in Chatsworth, on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18, at 11 am in the funeral home chapel,  with a visitation 1 hour prior to service. Reverend Ed Hoekstra officiating.
