Eleanor Ida Walker

Eleanor Ida Walker (nee Martin), of Williams Lake, passed peacefully  with her adoring family at her side on June 30, 2016,  after a courageous battle with cancer in her 68th year. Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Beverly H. Walker. Lovingly missed by her children Jana Tower (Jason) of Barrie and Jeff Walker (Jennifer) of Markham. She was a special grandma to Meghan, James, Courtney, and Ryan. She is survived by her siblings Ruth Klages (Harold), and Earl Martin (Joanne).  Also remembered by sisters in law Shirley Martin,  Caroline Bryans, and Karen Doody (Mike), brother in law Ken Walker (Joyce), and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents Dave and Ida Martin, brother Ross, sister in law Norma Hammond (Alvin),  and brother in law Ivan Bryans.

Eleanor was a beautiful, vivacious woman who loved swimming and kayaking at her lake home. An incredible cook; making the best pies and cookies, she was also a passionate gardener. She worked and excelled in many fields throughout her life including 20 dedicated yrs in social work in Owen Sound. Her zest for life was best expressed by her love of family and friends.

The funeral service for Eleanor will be held  at the GARAFRAXA HILL FUNERAL HOME, Chatsworth, on Wednesday July 6, at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior, Pastor Michael Henkel officiating. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Funeral Home following  the service. A private family inurnment will follow.
