Margaret (Marg) Elliot

June 2, 2017

ELLIOT- Margaret (Marg) Elliot passed after a short illness at Credit Valley Hospital on June 2, 2017.  Marg leaves behind her mom and dad Mac and Edith Elliot of Owen Sound, brother Tom (Penny), of Whitehorse, sister Marie Ferron (Grant) of London, nephew Brett Elliot (Maxine White) and nieces Kelsey Paulson (Chris),  Maegan and Courtney Ferron  and long-time friend Patty Kelly of Mississauga.

Margaret was first and foremost dedicated to her family; she was a devoted, loving daughter and sister.  Her love of God was equally important. Margaret had strong, unrelenting faith and believed God was always guiding her. She believed that all of her experiences whether good or bad were teaching lessons. “He prayeth best who loveth best all thing both great and small” and so Margaret always had a special relationship with animals. Her family cat named Cutie Pie and Bunny, Fussy Feet, were among her favourites. Marg was crafty and enjoyed making dried flower arrangements.   She loved road trips, get away trips to various hotels in Niagara Falls and other local destinations. She loved spa days especially pedicures. She loved Stephen King novels and reading in general. She loved her nieces and nephew and enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with them.  She loved twin hugs.  She loved earrings, dangly ones, the bigger the better. She loved dream catchers and owls, pan flute music, the Manitoulin, water, sun. She was thankful for many things, even small things and she loved connecting with family and friends. She took pride in her job and ability to do her job well. Margaret will be remembered by her loved ones as possessing a calming, tranquil energy, a presence that remained with her during her final days.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home Chatsworth,  Friday June 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with a visitation one hour prior, Rev. Randy Benson officiating. Lunch and refreshments will be hosted at the funeral home following the service. Inurnment at the Shiloh Cemetery will immediately follow the service for those wishing to attend.

It was Marg’s wish that donations  be directed to either the Credit Valley Hospital Cancer Center, the Children’s Wish Foundation or Chapman House. Condolences may be expressed online at www.garafraxahillfuneral.com.
