BROWN- Leslie Lorn Milton Brown, of Chatsworth, passed peacefully on February 4, 2018 at Markdale Hospital, in his 82nd year. Husband of the late Nancy Bearinger. Leslie was a native of Glenelg township and was the youngest son of the late George and Christine Brown. Predeceased by siblings Stephen Brown (Catherine, Vida), Archie Brown (Margaret) and Jessie England (Frederick). Lovingly remembered by cousins Marjorie and Ron Flarity of Owen sound and Ruth Johnson of Chatsworth, and their families. Also predeceased by sisters-in-law Betty Bearinger, Katie Molesworth (Ron), and Sarah Cochrane (David), and brothers-in-law Ens Bearinger, Daniel Bearinger and Esra Bearinger (Levina).
Leslie was born in Glenelg Township, Grey County on July 13, 1936 He was born the youngest son of four children to George & Christine Brown. He was predeceased in life and death by brothers Stephen and Archie and sister Jessie. He was married 36 years to the love of his life, Nancy Bearinger; residing in St. Catherines. Although they never had any children, there was always an adored cat or dog as a loved companion, filling their home. Leslie had many jobs throughout his life which included truck driving and farm hand. He was extremely well organized and a perfectionist in every task which included gardening, fence mending, grass cutting, painting and general maintenance. He loved to be outside working in the yard especially with his flowers.In the evening Leslie was an avid reader. After Nancy's death, he came to live in the Chatsworth area with his first cousin, Ruth Johnson. His help to Ruth was invaluable; Ruth lamented that the house was always tidy and the outside work well maintained. Leslie always had a strong faith in the Lord and worshipped at the Pentecostal church in Owen Sound and was also a custodian at his church in St. Catherines. His strong faith and sense of humour endeared him to others. He had a strong sense of family too and loved his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
The funeral service for Leslie Brown will be held at the Garafraxa Hill funeral home chapel on Wednesday February 7, 2018, at 12:00 pm, with a visitation one hour prior; Reverend Philip Smith officiating. Spring interment in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill Ontario. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
