Sad to hear of Gene's passing, I went to school both in Southampton Public where his Mom taught grade-3 and Saugeen High School in Port Elgin. Gene's nick name was "Cave Man" I do not remember how that came about. When I had a interview with the Niagara Parks Com. school of Horticulture Gene drove me down from Southampton for he interview and took nothing for it. He was a great guy and would do anything for you. The years have passed but I still remember his kindness . I am sorry for your loss , rest in peace old friend.
