Alein Marie Atkinson

Peacefully at Chapman House in Owen Sound, Alein Atkinson (nee Smith) of Chatsworth passed on Thursday February 23, 2023, in her 92nd year. Alein is now reunited with her husband of 65 years, “Atch” Atkinson, who predeceased her in 2018. Cherished mother of Deborah MacArthur Hergert (Brian) of Barrie, Jim Atkinson (Debbie) of Chatsworth, and Denise Simpson (Steve) of Owen Sound. Loving grandma to Kristianna (Brad), Trevor (Melissa), Jason, Cindy (Jon), and Samantha (Casey), great-grandma to Vrindavani (Dustin), Chanelle, Mya, Benson, Autumn, and Sierra, and great-great-grandma to Vinadasi. Fondly remembered by Eleanor, Gwen, Deanne, Lois, Patricia and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Cora Smith (nee Cole).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. A visitation will be held on Sunday February 26, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday February 27, at 11:00 am. DLM Kara McCluskie officiating. Interment at Flesherton Cemetery.
