Douglas R.C. Pountney

February 3, 1930 - December 19, 2022

It is with profound sadness that the family of Douglas Robert Campbell Pountney, announce his peaceful passing at GBHS Owen Sound, on December 19, 2022, at the age of 92 years. He is now reunited with his loving wife Shirley Pountney (nee Arnott) who predeceased him in 2000. He will be missed by his daughter Suanne Taylor (Rick) of Waterford, and his three sons, Bryan (Sandra) of Hamilton, Kerry (Lorri) of Burlington, and Dave (Louann) of Owen Sound. Doug will be missed greatly by his 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also cherished by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Emily Pountney (nee Campbell) and his siblings Wilford (Isabel), Albert (Lena), Gladys Morley (John), and Doris Dell (Charles).

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. A visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel on December 31, 2022, from 1 to 3 pm. A funeral service will follow in the spring on May 5th, 2023 at 12pm in the funeral home chapel, with a visitation one hour prior, DLM Kara McCluskie presiding. Interment to follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Chatsworth. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff, emergency staff and 61 Nursing Unit, at Seasons Retirement Home for their unwavering support, care and kindness.
